18+ Friday Night Social Group
18+ Friday Night Social Group
Our Friday Night Life Skills Group is a fun, relaxed and supportive space for adults aged 18+ to build confidence, independence and connections.
Participants have the opportunity to develop practical, real-world skills through engaging activities and experiences, including communication, problem solving, organisation, decision making and community participation.
Most importantly, it’s a chance to get out, try new things, meet new people and build genuine friendships in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
WHEN & WHERE?
Day: Fridays
Time: 5:00 PM–9:00 PM
Meeting Point: 88 Burswood Road, Burswood 6100
WHAT IT’S ALL ABOUT
Friday nights are an opportunity for participants aged 18 and over to enjoy the social experiences that many adults value—going out for dinner, attending events, visiting entertainment venues, and spending time with friends.
But this group is mostly about:
Choice → having a voice in where we go and what we do
Connection → meeting people, developing friendships, and sharing new experiences
Confidence → becoming more comfortable in adult social and community settings
Independence → practising everyday skills in genuine, real-world situations
Enjoyment → finishing the week with something fun to look forward to
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
No two Friday nights will be exactly the same. Activities will be guided mainly by participant interests, group decisions, suitable local opportunities, and the support needs of everyone attending. Evenings may include:
Bowling and games → enjoying some friendly competition in an easygoing social environment
Dinner outings → choosing a venue, reading menus, ordering meals, managing a personal budget, and sharing dinner with the group
Local events → attending suitable festivals, markets, performances, sporting events, exhibitions, or community celebrations when available
Entertainment venues → visiting cinemas, arcades, comedy shows, live entertainment, or other age-appropriate venues
Pubs and licensed venues → experiencing adult social settings with appropriate support, subject to venue requirements and each participant’s circumstances
Casino outings → visiting the casino for dining, entertainment, or optional gambling activities, where suitable and agreed in advance
Participant-chosen activities → exploring new ideas and planning outings around what group members genuinely want to experience
Activities may change from week to week due to weather, ticket availability, venue conditions, accessibility, group preferences, or special events. Participants and their families or support networks will be provided with relevant outing details in advance wherever possible.
WHY CHOOSE OUR 18+ SOCIAL GROUP?
Participant-led experiences → Group members are encouraged to suggest activities, share their preferences, and help decide what each Friday night looks like.
Age-appropriate opportunities → Participants can experience adult social environments and evening activities with support available when needed.
Small-group setting → A smaller group helps participants feel known, included, and supported while making it easier to form genuine connections.
Safe and comfortable environment → Our team helps participants prepare for venues, navigate challenges, and enjoy the evening with clear, respectful support.
Transport available → Transport between our Burswood office and activity venues is included in the evening’s planning, with home transport potentially available by prior arrangement.
Real-world skill development → Participants naturally practise communication, budgeting, decision-making, travel, and community participation while enjoying themselves.

DINNER AND PERSONAL SPENDING

The amount required will depend on the activity planned for that evening. We will provide information about likely costs beforehand wherever possible so participants can plan their spending.
Whether it is bowling a strike, discovering a new restaurant, attending a special event, or simply enjoying a relaxed evening with good company, our 18+ Social Group gives participants the chance to experience more of their community.
